From the Greek Τροία = Troia
The origin of the wine is not certain,
but the link with the city of Troy is.
There are different legends. One wants Diomedes landed
on the banks of the Gargano, carrying wine shoots, which
found its natural habitat here.
Another legend tells of Frederick II of Swabia who loved to taste
the “full-bodied wine of Troia”. The Marquis D’Avalos were also
mentioned, who bought the city in 1533, and nothing the absolute
quality and attitude of the surrounding land, greatly increased
the cultivation of this grapes.

Description

Obtained from Nero di Troia grapes harvested exclusively
in our strictly dry-grown vineyards.
At the end of the refinement it has an intense ruby red
colour, pleasantly tannic, elegant and important.
Spicy taste with hints of blackberries and licorice,
artfully structured.
It is advisable to let it aerate and temper
at least 1 hour before serving.
Ideal pairing with red meat specialties, whether cooked
or raw, aged cheeses and salami with a strong taste.
The Troia grape is a native Apulian black grape variety.
It also takes the name of “Nero di Troia” due to its high
polyphenolic charge which gives it an intense ruby colour
which, sometimes, may appear “black”.
Alcoholic content: 13 % vol.
